How is the receipt transaction total determined?

The transaction total on any receipt is the final amount after all:

1. Taxes
2. Coupons
3. Gift cards/certificates
4. EBT/Food Stamps
5. WIC
6. SNAP discounts
   
   

As this is how most retailers list their total transaction amount on the receipt, the true taxable total already takes into account savings and deductions.
